Hello everyone,
New to this forum. I have an '88 9000s with a blown headgasket, I downloaded the instructions from saabsite and I wondering if it really as difficult as what it seems. I am not new to auto repair I have always done my own work, just this is new to me.

i am unfamilir with the layout of that engine, but i think that it wont be easy, especially if youve not done one before...

I am done it took me eight hours to do it. It isn't that bad, I got the instructions from the saabsite and it went really well. I now have a great running 9000s again.

in the 8 hours, what took the majority of the time? actually getting TO the head?

alot of it was getting to the bolts and things that are out of a persons reach. And then it was trying to find the hidden stuff. after that it was smooth sailing.

i find that most newer cars arent hard to work on as much as its hard to remove all the crap to get to the engine!
