The differential exploded in my 1995 9000 CSE this winter . I have a line on a cheap manual trans out of an older '91 9000 - my question is, will it fit ?
I know the parts houses list the replacement trans as 93 to 98 , but could an older one bolt on just fine and merely use the older clutch components and gearshift linkage ?
thanks for help,

Hi there Colin, the older tranny will not fit your car, i'm not sure of the exact details but i believe the older tranny HOUSING will only fit pre '93 models, the fitment is different thereafter.
When i bought my car ( '94 9000cse) it had just had a new tranny so i had to look into the possibilities/gear ratios, etc. and found that the tranny on my car HAD TO BE a post '93 one to fit....i did this research for my own piece of mind.
hope this helps!
