I am looking at several used 9-5 Aeros.  Looking at modeal year 2003 and 2004, both under 40K miles.  One at a Saab dealer and one at a non-Saab dealer.  Neither is CPO.  Any pointers on trouble areas to look for?  If I go with an '04, I'll have about 10 months of original warranty.  I would like to extend the warranty and was wondering of best choices for this.  Also, I'm comparing to Volvo S-80 and Audi A6.  I've got a Volvo now so I'm aware of extra cost for maintenance.

How are those two priced?

The '04 is priced just under 17.5K, which i'll negotiate down.  The '03 is priced just under 17K, which is negotiable.  Also, the '04 has approx 38kmiles and the '03 has approx 25k miles.  I've run a Carfax on both since I subscribed for 30 day unlimited reports.

I'd go for the 04 provided that the options are similar on the two cars.  If not, I'd go for the one with more options that I want.   The reason for taking the 04 is getting a car that's theoretically worth more...

'03 9-5 with 25k miles... Do you live in the Midwest (Chicagoland)?? Before we bought our '04 9-3 we looked at a '03 9-5 with similar miles for about that price...

Nope.  I'm in the mid-Atlantic.  The '03 was titled in MI according to Carfax.  The VIN is YS3EH49G933020099.
