Anybody want to make a go of this thing? US 129 north of Robbinsville, NC is the Tail of the Dragon: 318 curves in 11 miles.

I've run this thing extensively in my Corvettes and I will be in western NC around Sylva on August 20-21. Any SAAB owners who are interested can contact me here.

I say all this with a warning: this is not the road to test the limits of you or your car. The weekend I was up there a couple weeks ago 3 people died on motorcycles acting very stupid.

Most places you won't get over 30 mph as you're fighting the curves and switchbacks the whole way. Add to this the Blount County and TN State Troopers on patrol.

But it is a playground for sportscars and motorcycles and worth the ride if you are in the area. Anybody?

Actually will be there Tuesday eve and Wednesday August 21-22. Look for the 9-5 with German Zoll plates. Careful in the corners for stupid drivers!

Well, I ran this this afternoon in bright sunshine and under the watchful eye of the local PDs. A different ride in the SAAB than the Vette, but just as enjoyable. Another good one is NC 107 between Sylva and Cashiers. Rain tomorrow though and the rest of the week. So if you're going to drive it - make sure your wearing your rain slick tires!

If I do go I'll make sure to bring both, the hoosiers and the all seasons
