Purchased my 2003 Saab 95 six months ago. All was well. Lately, when I turn off the ignition key, the warning chime sounds, the interior lights do not turn on and the key remote function is disabled. There is no message re. the key battery being low. I check to see that all controls that supposed to be "off" are.
Any ideas? Thank you.

Check thae actual ignition cylinder.  When you take the jey out it's supposed to "pop" up.  If it doesn't it will cause the symptoms you're describing.  It thinks the key is in the ignition and that's why it chimes and wouldn't lock with the remote.

Thanks Roto:
Did exactly as you suggested and it worked. Spring must be worn, but with a little sidways pressure on the key when I turn it off all systems are go. Thanks again.
