If anything I'd rebuild the damaged head, it'll be MUCH cheaper than a rebuilt engine.  Believe it or not, but that is a very common failure on the V6s and I've been lucky finding good deals on parts for that particular repair. _____________________________ 1999 Saab 9-3 5-door. You've got nothing to loose except a couple of hours of time.  I've seen three rebuilds of these engines and it's usually a matter of a couple of valves which are around $10 each...plus new headgaskets and timing belt/tensioneer of course _____________________________ 1999 Saab 9-3 5-door.
