What would u guys choose for your car between a K&N air intake and a BSR Optiflow Intake? I am leaning more towards the BSR Optiflow but id like to hear the opinion of others as well

In my book an air intake is an air intake...the one I have I made myself and it does the job...

I did some dyno's a while back, and I made more HP with the K&N Panel filter in the stock air box....
I had some results with the Gtech, but I needed to see how much HP I uncorked with the new exhaust.
So I did the cone filter and Stock box expierement for my amusement.

192WHP/208Ftlbs K&N Stock box panel filter
188WHP/201Ftlbs Uni Foam Filter
189.1WHP/201ftlbs K&N Cone Filter (recharged) From my turbo miata

Temps were 78 Degree's outside temp at reveXtreme brandon florida.
Waiting for a cheap stage 2 upgrade soon.  My goal is 240WHP.

And this was on a Dynojet, uncorrected

regarding what you said a while back ago about "properly installed". Since this would be my first air intake that i will have for my car and first time that i will install such thing on my car...any suggestions; things that i should be careful with, stuff that i should look for watch out for what to do what not to do? or is it just safer to have it done at an autoshop?

thx,
Alex

don't take it to  a shop is suggestion #1.  Just take your time and if you hae a MAF sensor - be very careful with it.

K&N is the way to go.
They have great intakes, and their filters are all high flow. This means that their are not only open air, but the fibers in the filter let in more air than others do.
I have a filter on my 9-5 and the improvement is quite noticable, and my GOD the SOUND, when paired with a diverter valve
