I'm at 103K on the original.  You have the black one or the red one?

I have the black one.  Last time i had it pulled,  there appeared to be some kind of rust type formation on the tubes.  Even the mech was not sure exactly what it was.  he cleaned it and put it back.  its not giving me any probs but my mileage seems to be way off.  only getting around 20.

if you're getting around 20 you might want to check everything.  Could be a clogged cat, could be a combination of a dirty air filter and crappy gas, or may be a bad fuel filter too...

if you're worried about the DI going bad pick one up on ebay.  Black ones are quite cheap and carry it in the boot.

I've seen one on e-bay for $219 i think.  Is that price about what you were thinking? I just recently got the oil change done so i'm thinking that they checked the air and fuel filters and found them to be ok.  may talk to my indie guy to see what he thinks.

On my last 95 I didn't change it until  103000miles and that was from new ,on this one its covered about the same as yours. what makes you think it needs replacing ?, a mobile tuning chap should be able to check or your local saab specailist with the diagnostic computer. If you do change beware of so called refurbed  units. Its one of the OEM parts you should use.
